The first FSC event I attended was in about 1955 at Juniper Hall (doing A level after completing national service) then Flatford Mill a year later. Then a long gap till several visits to Nettlecombe Court to attend courses about fungi in the 1970's. These were splendid and gave me a good foundation in the identification of fungi which has been my principal interest since then.
Just a big thanks for this splendid organisation and sorry that I have not been able to attend a greater number of courses or sampled more centres during the past 50 or so years. The concept and philosophy of FSC is marvellous and it has been wonderful to see how courses have evolved and expanded over the years.
