The John Muir Award is an educational award from the John Muir Trust. The award is for people of all ages and abilities and it’s all about getting out into the great outdoors, exploring, discovering, conserving wildlife and sharing experiences. More information about the award can be found on their website www.johnhmuiraward.org.

Verity studied Conservation Biology and Geography at the University of Exeter, Falmouth Campus, and whilst living in Cornwall gained further experience in education and the outdoor sector working as a narrator at the Eden Project, a support assistant at Truro College and volunteering with Nature Workshops, Forest Schools and at a local community garden. From there she became a Trainee Tutor for the FSC and subsequently a tutor at Nettlecombe Court. Verity spends her time being outside as much as possible; walking, cycling, swimming and generally adventuring.
