A brand new chart to identify commonly found seashells has been launched by environmental charity Field Studies Council (FSC).
The beautifully illustrated guide ‘Common Seashells’ covers everything from razor shells to periwinkles and will enable people of all ages to recognise and learn more about the shells they find around the coasts of Britain and Ireland this summer.
One side of the chart is dedicated to the full colour illustrations of the different types of shell, while the reverse contains information about each and ways to identify them.
Head of FSC Publications Rebecca Farley-Brown said: “This new chart is great for families to enjoy; the illustrations will appeal to younger children and the information provided will teach them more as they get older. Everyone loves picking up shells during a day on the beach and this just takes it a step further helping to increase our knowledge about what we discover in the natural world.”
The chart is high quality, durable and laminated making it ideal for use outdoors. It costs just £3.00 plus postage and is can be ordered online via www.field-studies-council.org/publications or by phone on 01952 208910.
FSC is a leading provider of publications and offers a wide range of fold out charts on all aspects of the natural world, as well as more in-depth books and guides. See more FSC Publications
